Click The Cat
Click the Cat – a playful, time‑limited click‑er built for Garbage Jam #4
In this charming little game you have 30 seconds to keep a mischievous cat in sight and smack it before time runs out. The cat roams the screen, and each successful click triggers a delightful “meow” sound effect. Rack up points, chase a high‑score even though there is no tracking of highscore, and watch the timer color shift as the challenge intensifies.
Technical Details
- Written in C using the Raylib library for graphics and audio.
- Configurations such as screen size, FPS cap, and volume are defined in
constants.h. - Modular source files (
main.c,game.c,player.c,cat.c,audio.c) keep the code organized. - Built for macOS so gameplay and performance may vary.
Why Play?
NO IDEA...
For those interested...I've never made a game before and never programmed in C or C++ before. I've never used raylib before either. I challenged myself to do something which many would consider difficult and finish something. I am bad for personal projects not being finished. So I worked really hard on keeping things organized, and scope as little as possible for this submission, hence its lack luster nature. I wanted to focus on learning and submit a working item. even if the high score function broke...
Overall I'm quite happy with what I learned. The source code is freely MIT licensed and anyone can use it.
